I know it's not the best photo of all of us, but you try and take a picture of three dogs with cute expressions on their faces and everyone's eyes open! I had a visit from my friends Daphne (next to me) and Monty (on the right) this week. We played a lot but then all decided to rest on the couch together. Imagine me, sleeping? While I have friend over? I know, who would have thought, right?
Guess who came over this weekend???? One of my very first friends, Reggie. I was coming back from a walk and there in the distance he was waiting for me at my house. I couldn't believe it was really him! We haven't seen each other in a long time. He stayed until later that night, and we even rode in the car together to get pizza. Unfortunately, the pizza wasn't for us. I don't think Reggie was in much of a playing mood, because I brought him every toy that I own to tug with me, but he didn't. But we finally got tired and slept on Reggie's mom. It was so good to see him again.
The best part about stuffed animals (in this case, an octopus) is eating the squeaky middle. The rest of the filler inside isn't so great, as you can see here...
When I was first rescued from running in the streets, I didn't like to share my toys with other dogs. I never had my own toys before, so why would I let anyone take them from me? And then, I realized that it's lots of fun to share with my friends. And that my really good friends will play with the same toy and TUG, which is one of my favorite things to do. Here's Ripley and me, about to do some serious destruction on a red rope... He's even licking his lips in anticipation.
This belonged to a toy that I had. How humiliating that it is now on MY head. Why are you laughing?
I'm having weekly playdates with Ripley lately. It's really cool, he just shows up at the garage door and we play for hours and hours. Sometimes we take breaks. Here we look a little too innocent. Right after this photo Ripley tackled me and we were off and running again.
